Some months ago the Prime Minister Viktor Orban announced that Hungary would tackle important challenges with regards to immigration. Recently, the public was informed that a wall of 175 km would be constructed at the Serbian-Hungarian border. How can the immigration policy of the Hungarian government be evaluated?

Being a small country doesn't prevent the occurrence of big political divides. Hungarians, depending on whether they support the ruling party or the opposition, give a completely different interpretation of the national political reality.

However, some students feel that all their hopes in future have gone up in flames because of the new measures increasing their responsibilities.

Right after getting to power Fidesz-KDNP voted the new law about Hungarian dual citizenship. The measure was supported not only by the governing parties but also by the major part of the opposition. However, the left wing is still concerned about its effects.

According to the supporters of the government this law is aimed to protect minors, to provide balanced information and to hold back the far-right. However national and foreign powers on the left wing, consider that with this law Viktor Orbán gets further in the building of a dictatorship.

Within a democratic and modern Europe, Hungary chose a unique way to put its legal and republican system on new basis. The Parliament voted the new basic law by a two-third majority in April 2011.
